Following the success of similar workshops in Arts Centres in Wexford town, Ballina and elsewhere, Wexford-based author Jackie Hayden will host a three part series of Write For Your Life workshops at the Stella Maris Centre in Kilmore Quay this April.  Find out more

As Hayden points out, “More and more people are seeing the value of writing down their life experiences, and not necessarily for publication. Some want to do it for the pleasure of writing, while others see a therapeutic value in putting their memories and feelings into words. Unfortunately, many find it difficult to get started. The Write For Your Life workshops are intended to help them overcome those initial difficulties.”

Hayden will demystify the writing process using his considerable experience as a writer, editor and journalist. He has over written 10 books, mostly of a biographical nature, including the number one best-seller My Boy.  He has also edited autobiographies for other writers, and written thousands of articles, reviews, and news items. He has published interviews with a variety of subjects, from Bob Geldof, The Corrs, Sinead O’Connor, Eleanor McEvoy, Christy Moore, Gerry Ryan, Liam Clancy, Pierce Turner and Mary Black to Michael D Higgins, Johnny Giles, David Norris and Gerry Adams.

Write For Your Life places are limited to 15 participants, and the cost is €20 for a participant’s first workshop and €10 for each of the remaining two. All participants will be entitled to a later one-to-one free consultation with Hayden. The workshops will take place on three consecutive Tuesdays from April 17th at 7.30 pm.
